What's Wrong With Fear?

Many believe, incorrectly, that a little fear is good.  God tells us dozens of times in the Bible to "fear not."

When we fear, we become subject to bondage according to
Hebrews 2:14-15: "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he {Jesus} also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."

This passage of scripture says that the devil had the power of death but, praise God, Jesus
destroyed the works of the devil, including fear.

Job realized that what he feared became a reality in his life: "for the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me."
Job 3:25

Because the devil is an outlaw, we still must
resist him and his works, including fear.

Fear Not . . .

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(Say...) God has not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(
Pray...) Father God, fear does not come from you; therefore, I don't want it and I refuse to fear.  You have given me the spirit of power. and of love, and of a sound mind.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

God loves me and I love him.  I love others for God's love is in my heart.  This love has freed me from fear.

Father God, thank you for loving me.  I love you too!   I also love others for your love is in my heart. This love has freed me from fear.

In every situation, I am relaxed, for I know God is with me and God is in me.  He is exalted.  In the midst of a storm, I say, "Peace, be still," and all that is oposing me ceases, and there is a great calm.

Heavenly Father, In every situation, I am relaxed, for I know you are with me and the Greater One, your Holy Spirit is in me. You are exalted. In the midst of every storm, I say, "Peace, be still," and all that is oposing me ceases, and there is a great calm, in my mind and in my body.

In righteousness I shall be established: I shall be far from oppression; for I shall not fear.  Terror shall not come near me.

Father God, because of Jesus, I am established in righteousness. I am far from oppression for I shall not fear and terror shall not come near me.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

The Lord keeps me in perfect peace. My mind is stayed on Him: because I trust in God and in His word.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jesus gave me power and authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.  Nothing shall by any means hurt me.

I fear not; for God is with me.  I am not dismayed for the Lord is my God; He will strengthen me; yes, He will help me; yes, He will uphold me with the right hand of his righteousness. The Lord my God holds my right hand, saying to me, "fear not; I will help you."

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree

Jesus left me peace. His peace he gave to me. Father God, in Jesus' name, I receive the peace that Jesus gave to me; therefore, I have peace in my heart, peace in my mind, and peace in my body, and I thank you for it.  In Jesus' name, amen!
